Money Talks, B.S. Walks, Pay The Price, or Walk It Twice

Applebee’s Broomfield
HOLY SH*T! That explains it all! Just in case you were wondering where everybody was at last night, let me give you a firsthand account.

I was ready to Rock N’ Roll, and “Burn Down The House” baby. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful night. The air was crisp, but warm. The sky was clear, and the sun sunk softly into the Rocky Mountains. It was Eden.
Here's a a recap of last night. Coffee In A Staff Cup, Strawrappers, Team “TEAM”, Spicy Pandas, Technical Difficulties, Hatt Madders, Whole Lotta Hair, Upside Down, Ramrod, Loopy Queens and B-Side (formally B.A.M.F.) all showed up as repeat offenders. All these guys, and girls, came out in full to compete in style. Coffee In A Staff Cup, Team “TEAM”, and Strawrappers battled it out neck and neck and neck throughout the entire game. Leading and only being separated by 3 points at the halftime. Teams Far 4 Nukin, Cassandra, The Awesome Alien, and Frogger all decided to compete separately, in the hopes that they would quadruple their chances of walking away with a spot in the winner’s circle. The idea was a little contagious, as Broads and Young I’s, along with Spicy Pandas and Peco Pandas decided to follow in tow.

Well not exactly, Spicy Pandas showed up at the start of the game with 15 people, so we had to split them up anyways. Well just before the half, 4 more people from their group showed up ready to play, so they jumped in with team “TEAM”, and helped out the lone gunman. Technical Difficulties is a softball team sponsored by Applebee’s, and so their 4 core team members stayed throughout the game. They used their softball know how, to “fill the roster”, as members of their team left early, but were soon replaced by a new member joining up. Isn’t there some rule in softball, or baseball that says you can’t swap out 8 players in a game. With their core of 4 remaining, their official team size didn’t actually exceed 6, but there were a lot of changes to the lineup.

Now to talk about the MVP of last night, Andrea. This girls is a newcomer, but she played like a pro last night, just edging out Strawrappers for 2nd place. She hid in the shadows the entire game, not really making herself known to any of the other teams until it was time to make her big move. That move came at the Final question. She was among the few teams that got all the answers correct, but was the ONLY team to do so with a full point wager in hand. I would love to see a competitor of her caliber compete on the grand scale. I honestly believe that she would make an excellent addition to the league.
Always a Fierce Competitor, walking away with $25 in House cash

I love these guys.  Kick Ass time, walking away with $10 House cash for 3rd

Seriously, the girl on the right looks like she's gonna be dessert. Creepy

Catnip for White Girls!

Applebee's Brookhill
DUDE...Have you ever seen a bar that wasn't jumping when you play "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leopard?  It doesn't exist! That song is like catnip for white girls.  They go absolutely nuts when that song comes on.  Even the most mild mannered, and innocent bartender lets her wild side out when that comes on.  It's FU*KIN' CRAZY!  They had the entire bar, including myself, out of their seats dancing along.  HOLY HELL!  If you're up north on a Thursday Night, Applebee's in Brookhill is the place to be.

Slippery When Wet (the league team), Scratch & Sniff, Shrak Attack, and Tremendious Trio all came out in full glory.  That sounds dirty I know, but it's honestly not. *wink wink*  Hell Even RamRod decided to join in on the festivities.  He's pretty regular, but has only officially played once.  He was rockin at the sports questions though, and although in forth place going into it, he nailed the final.
Slippery When Wet, and Scratch & Sniff also nailed it as well, securing their place amoung the top two.  Tremendious Trio made a wise wager of 0, but left just before the scores were annnounced.  Shark Attack, who shared the top spot with Slippery When Wet going into the final, unfortunately missed it, and wagered big knocking them down to 4th.  Since Tremendious Trio was so sure that they were gonna walk away empty handed, so they left early, only to find out that they would have landed the third place spot.  But since they weren't there to receive their prize, it was awarded to Shark Attack.  Sometimes all your have to do is wait an extra 5 more minutes.

Honorable Mentions:
Doug is a returning team, although I can't remember what they were called last ime they FLEW IN TO PLAY!!  I can remember though that the last time they came out they dominated, but this time they had to leave early.  See You Guys Next Time.

Half of team J & L just recently graduated from High School, and so they were all up to date on the actual trivia.  They two left early in the second half, but assured me that they would be out next week along with their friends.  Thunder was a family that enjoyed a night out, but had to jump out early due to bed times.  Not the kids, but the parent's.   J & J were a quiet couple that sat back, and had a fun time.  That's about it.

Walking Away With 1st place $25 house cash

First runners up tonight, but not leavin empty handed...$15 House Cash

They left about 5 minutes too early otherwise they would have secured a third place victory :-(

They won a free round at the half, and walked away with $10 House cash on default

Pat's on Littleton
This week the show started a little slow for Jessica, but week 2 ended though with a bang.  We got ALL the problems witht the sound and video fixed, so it ran a lot more smoothly.  We started a little late, as the crowd didn't pile in to play until around 8:30.  Smooth sailing after that.  No Worries, our competitors didn't do any better.

Applebee's Belleview Shores
When I arrived at Applebee's this Thursday, I was a tired soul. I had partied way too hard on Tuesday(Who parties on a Tuesday, right?), went to bed too late on Wednesday, woke up too early on Thursday and was running from that moment forward when my feet descended from my bed to the floor.

Halfway through the first round, I started getting energized because of the crowd that night. Amazing. We had some spectacular teams after the prizes on Thursday and there was an energy in the house that seemed to grow with each round.

The Fighting Meer Cats kicked butt and walked away with $25. The Bar Rats and Slippery When Wet were tied for second after the final bonus as each team tried to step it up and walk home with bragging rights and the $15 prize. The Bar Rats showed their teeth and won the tie-breaker as S.W.W slipped their way into third place.

The Killaz didn't start playing until half-time and went into the final bonus question with 16 pts. They wagered their full 15 pts. and lost them.

My props this week go out to three teams from last night; Slippery When Wet must've known what a dirty bastard I am and tried to entice me with dirty drawings, and I don't know where they got it, but also one of those free dirty magazines that advertises strippers and hookers. Brazilian Blowout gets props for running up and hugging me during the show and for keeping up the men's bathroom at Applebee's so well that it smells like a bakery(Seriously, it smells like cupcakes. Ya notice those things when you're fueled by soda, beer, and nicotine) and the Night Furies get props because they sat next to my table and were super awesome and cheery. Night Furies, your week is coming!

Thankyou all for coming out and making last night an epic trivia night; I look forward to seeing what happens next week.

YOU'RE FIGHTIN IN A FU*CKIN BASMENT!

Applebee's Brighton
Wednesday night's are a beautiful thing, you're half-way through your work week, and there's cheap drinks and trivia to pique your brain in hopes that the mundane tasks of the week haven't rendered your thinker as a stagnant blob of grey matter. At least, that's the case for me.   I've been getting to know the teams at Brighton better now that I'm starting to see who are becoming the regular trivia enthusiasts.  Last night, Kycor and Nancy both got all four of the final bonus questions right and bet their fifteen points for a pay-off of first and second place. The Recreational Procreators( I still love that name) bet five and lost five at the final question as did the Bodees.  Team Ass, which was one bald guy at the end of the bar who liked to shout out answers and prove his name's sake, finally gave in and played the game with answer sheets, where he continued to prove his ass-like ambition with a hearty score of 1 point.   All in all, an excellent night and a mad shout out to the Brighton Applebee's staff for being so amazing and fun to work with.

Applebee's Arvada
Wednesday night pitted a bunch of regulars against each other at Applebee's in Arvada. Woody's and X both had pretty good games but put themselves into a hole in round four where neither team got a question right. Satchel had a good game, getting two answers that no other team got, but finished one point out of the money. Lost Boys! continued to be a very strong team, finishing in the money again, in third place. Fat Kids Always Win at Seesaw dominated from start to finish and had a three point lead going into the final question. Fat Kids got the final question right but played the wagering game and bet only two, leaving themselves a little short. Aim the Pickle continued it's impressive winning streak. They struggled through much of the game (in fourth at halftime) but didn't miss a seven point question in the second half and nailed both bonus questions. They went into the final question down by five but risked everything with a fifteen point wager that paid off. They walked off with $25 in house cash, another great score for the summer tournament, and, most importantly, bragging rights and a winning streak in tact.

Pat's Lodo
Lodo Rocks on a Wednesay night!  Week 2 downtown produced some of the most competitve people I've met so far.  Rebel Yell and Red Rocket battled it out, neck and neck throuout the entire game.  Each team being one or two points in front of the other.  Those two teams were so hell bent on beating the other that they didn't see Kash coming into the contention.  It all came down to the final question!  Team Kash, the only team to get them all right, AND wager the full 15, pulled ahead of Red Rocket (as they missed the final, and thus lost their wager), and just waited to see if Rebel Yell.  Well, Rebel Yell did miss it, but they bet wise, knowing they would, so they didn't wager a single point.  Just knudging out Kash for the win in the final seconds, and walking away with $50 in house cash.  Team Kash, Red Rocket, and BS didn't walk away empty handed though.  Kash scored $30, Red Rocket $15, and BS a round on me.
Well, I usually close with some witty words, but I believe that if someone else said it better, well them let them say it.  I believe that Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt's character) from Inglorious Bastards said it best.

Applebee's on Colorado Blvd.Applebee’s Colorado Blvd. was the place to be last night. Teams came from as far away as Las Vegas to play for the Bee’s cash and bragging rights. Notably missing was Team Kyle, the reigning champion at Applebee’s Colorado Blvd. and America’s Team who has come close to the cup every week, but has yet to taste. The first half of the game proved to be a tight race with Team Vegas, TKO, Victorious Secret, and URABAS all within 4 points of each other. Diva, Please made a late appearance to the game and struggled to gain lost ground. As the point values went up, so did the stakes. The second half became a battle ground for the trivial elite. Team Vegas and TKO stayed neck and neck as they fought for first place. URABAS and Jason’s Heroes brought their A game during the second half, grabbing some much needed points to keep them in the hunt for the cup. Team Vegas led by just one measly point over TKO as the final question appeared. Risks were taken, fortunes won and fortunes lost on the final question. As the dust settled, Team Vegas emerged as the victor, their 15 point gamble keeping them in the lead and winning the game. TKO found the silver lining as they landed comfortably in second place and Victorious Secret felt the thrill of being on the podium in third place. URABUS, Jason’s Heroes, and Diva, Please fought valiantly to the end, only to feel the crush of defeat. Next week is a clean slate and it is anybody’s game. Which teams will be back to go for the gold? I will be there to find out.
