Opening night downtown is either feast of famine. Well last night was a little of both. Pat's being an infamious Philly Bar, and home to one of the best cheesesteaks in town, was packed as the Philly's played a double header against the Rockies and the Flyers had a playoff match against the Bruins on the same night. The night started out strong, but fizzeled out late in the second half with only the dedicated teams sticking around to brave the weather. The weather, the rained out Rockies / Phillys night game, and the fact that it is still finals week worked against us, but we still had enough to compete for a grand prize, as well as we were able to give away a pair of U2 tickets for the June 12th show at Invesco. All in all it wasn't a bad night to say the least.

Applebee's on Colorado
It was a cold and sleety night. (Well, it was.) The four regular teams of Applebee’s Colorado Blvd. braved the weather to come play for their chance at victory. Victorious Secret and Diva, Please brought along some new team members, hoping that their collective brain power could somehow take down the intellectual giant, Team Kyle.
The first half got off to a rocky start for the resident champion, Team Kyle. The half ended with America’s Team and Diva, Please in the lead and Team Kyle in a surprising fourth place. As we rounded the corner in to the second half, the teams all kept their game faces on, knowing that with any round, Team Kyle could begin a steady climb back to the top of the podium. At the end of round six, America’s Team and Diva, Please were tied for first with Victorious Secret only four points behind and Team Kyle trailing the twin leaders by twelve points. As the final question appeared on the screen, all of the teams began the feverish whisper of conversation, reaching into the deepest corners of their mind, desperately seeking the answers that would bring them victory.
Team Kyle was the first to turn his answer in, a confident swagger in his step as he walked to the podium. As the first song ended, the three remaining teams were desperately trying to call up the answers. Finally, at the end of the third song, all of the teams had their answers in. All waited with bated breath as the answers faded onto the screen. They knew one team had managed to get all of the answers correct, who would it be? As the scores gradually appeared, Victorious Secret, America’s Team, and Diva, Please all sighed a great sigh of defeat. Somehow, Team Kyle had come from behind and once again defeated them all. So next week, will Team Kyle’s victorious rampage continue or will we crown a new champion? There is only one way to find out… come and play.

Applebee's Arvada
Aiim the Pickle continued it's rein as the supreme trivia team at Applebee's in Arvada on Wednesday night. Lost Boys! finished in second after keeping close for the entire game and moving into second place on the final question.
Dip 'n Dots spent most of the night in fourth, out of the money, but jumped up to finish in third place at the end. Fat Kids Always Win at Seesaw, who has finished in the money for the past 5 weeks, was in second place for the entire game but got the final question wrong and wagered the entire fifteen points, knocking them out of the money and ending their "in the money" streak

Mellow Mushroom at Southglenn
The Mellow Mushroom, for those of you who haven't been there yet, is like a traditional Italian Stlye Pizzeria.....If it was run by hippies. Their pizza is addicting!! They must be adding some "special ingrediants" into it or something. It's that good! If you're ever privilaged to come by on a Wednesday night at 7pm, well then you get to hang out with Preston. He's a perfect fit for the Mellow Mushroom. He brings a fresh mix of hip-hop, rock, and reggae to the table, and so therefore he brings out one of the biggest crowds. This Wednesday being a perticularly great week, especially because the weather blew (weather joke) lol. 80,000 comedians outta work and I'm crackin jokes.
Here's something that's no joke. Where My Pitch's At? came out to play in full glory walking away with the grand prize, and an impressive score for the league. Snow Shovels in Storage, and Underage, our newest league team, followed in tow walking away with runners up prizes.
