Springtime Trivia Night

Applebee's Gateway Park
It's always fun playing a location where 90% of the surrounding building are hotels.  And I'm not talking about those little Motel 6 hotels, I'm talking about the huge Hiltons and Marriots which have at least 400 rooms each.  With at least 7 around us, and it being a weekend, you know that they were pretty full.  Good night to be in the hospitality business.

For starters, we were close enough to the Airport so the "out of towners" can see how we do things here in the "Mile High".  Which is always a good thing.  Also it was a Saturday Night, and so that means most of them weren't leaving till Monday.  Which adds up to a lot of people getting their drink on, and returing to their respective hotel rooms...but not always alone.
There was definately a spark in the air last night, or maybe it was Josh the Bartender pouring the drinks.  Team T.V. had an excellent game, showing up to play.  The lead the entire game, and eventhough they only bet 1 point on the finals question, they were the only team to get it all correct.  Proving to us they know their cereal.

Team Sumter, a mix of locals and out of towners had probably the wisest bet all night on the final question of 0 points.  They missed it, but since they didn't bet anything, well they didn't lose anything either.  They were gettinmg ready to head out to South carolina in a few day, but informed me that they were sticking around long enough to use the house cash they won for second place.
Jenn, an out-of-town girl, was staying in town for a few weeks on business and looking for a place to live out here came in third place walking away with $10 in house cash.  She's from Las Vegas, but she's out here for the next few weeks.  Being from Las Vegas, a city covered in heat and sand, she sure knew her hockey.  Talking hockey, and general sports, with new friends The Dudes, she decided that if they were gonna come back out next week than she'd buy them a round.

Congrats to all our winners.
Honorable mentions:  Team Ramrod was a group out out of town guys who were kicking ass all the way up until they left, early in the second half.  If they would've stayed I'm sure they would have placed.  Team Ham-Blik-Mans, cracker, and AL had fun as well but had to slip out early.  See you all next week.
